It's all about clever design ...

The internet is full of web sites, some good, some outstanding and an awful lot that are plain, dull, or don't 'work'. To succeed on the internet you need to consider a few things:

  1. Your web site is just one way of marketing your business, not the only way, but one way and your web address should be included on all outgoing emails to remind people of its existence.
  2. Your web site needs to be built using compliant HTML and CSS (this ensures that all of the search engine robots can read the text and improves your chances of a successful listing, e.g. Google).
  3. Your web site should be attractive, should provide the information required quickly, and should be easy to navigate.

All web sites designed by me follow the above rules. Most of the work can be undertaken with very little input from you; all I need is some ideas of the text you want; how many pages you want; the domain name you have (or wish me to purchase) and the images for the gallery (unless you require a photographer with professional digital equipment, a portable studio who processes the pictures using the latest software (Photoshop CS3) - in which case indicate this in your initial contact). Once I have this information - which is usually provided by email I will start the design process.

The design process is interactive; I prototype a page and make it available for your comments; once you are happy with the design; I replicate this for the remaining pages and insert the text and images; I will then validate the HTML and CSS and tidy up any errors and ask you to proof the site.

Once you're happy the fee is payable and the design is yours to keep.
